Faucet Project
Students in product design I class are challenged to build a faucet facing different scenario (hospital, airport, private bathroom, kitchen) and focus on defining their topics and addressing the existing problems which could be reflected through the faucet. Through the initial research, benchmarking, iterate, mock up evaluation, and feedback offered from in-class and extra-curricular communications, students were able to narrow down their concepts based on the insights they gained. Finally, each student created their unique ideas such as corresponding to what they found.
Project Outcomes
• The product design I class will develop faucet concept using sketch, CAD models and physical models to design, deliveries for projects will be full-scale models and renderings from appearance models developed in 3D CAD models.
• The key objective points for the project are:
• Go through the whole design process
• Design objects concurrently while establishing aesthetic style
• Communication of design intent through use of 3D CAD, physical models
• How to involve feedback and design evaluations from both internal and external
